The Statistics Department at Government College Kariavattom, established in 1997, offers a robust undergraduate program designed to equip students with strong analytical and quantitative skills. The department blends theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing graduates for diverse careers in fields like finance, healthcare, and research. With a faculty of experienced professionals, the program encourages research, internships, and hands-on experience. In addition, the department has registered its alumni (GAUSS), fostering a growing network of professionals who contribute to the  students’s development and department success.

B.Sc Statistics
The core subject is Statistics and the vocational subjects are Mathematics and Computer Science.
Eligibility:

  • A pass in Higher Secondary Exam of the State or an Exam accepted by the University as equivalent thereto with Mathematics and any one of the following subjects : Physics, Computer Science or Statistics.

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES

  • The Department has under taken a Major research project  (F No. 41-810/2012)with the financial support of UGC. Topic: On Order Statistics and Records  The Major Research project submitted on 09-03-2016.
  • The Department organized an add on course entitled “Data analysis using SPSS ” during 07-01-2012 to 09-03-2012 ,sponsored by Director of collegiate education
