PROFILE
- The Department was established at the College when the Arts subject courses of undergraduate wing of University College shifted to Kariavattom during the year 1993 -1994
- During 1996, all the undergraduate courses were shifted back to University College and the courses of Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Computer Science and Statistics were introduced at the undergraduate level and the college was renamed as Government College, Kariavattom in 1997.
- Subsequently in 1998 Geography course and in 1999, , two restructured double main Physics & Computer Application and Chemistry & Industrial Chemistry were introduced at the undergraduate level
ACADEMIC PROGRAMME
- The Department offers post graduate course in Mathematics and complementary subject for the undergratuate courses.of Statistics, Physics & Computer Applications, Chemistry & Industrial Chemistry , Computer Science.
- It follows the syllabus and course pattern prescribed by the University of Kerala.

- B. Sc. with Mathematics as optional Main subject and Mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects under Part III securing not less than 55% marks for that part
